Wednesday - Inside a machine

Interesting prompt. I wasn't quite sure which machines to photograph but decided to do some of the insides of appliances in my house. This is the inside of my dishwasher.

This is the inside of my oven.

This is the inside of my clothes dryer which got a good workout today since I did four loads of laundry. I would have done the washing machine as well but it was full of clothes washing.

Week 3 - Inside

I'm still playing catch up so I am doing Monday and Tuesday here. These are some pictures of inside my house. This is our guest bedroom.

This is our master bedroom. French doors lead into it and if you are wondering about the chair at the foot of the bed? It is for Toby to be able to get on the bed. He can't jump that high without help since he is so little.

This is part of the master bathroom. We have double sinks and the shower and toliet are on the other side. French doors lead into the bathroom.

This is part of our kitchen. We have an island stove. This area is all open and our family room and breakfast nook is on the other side.

Now for inside a box or bag. I have chosen a box. Thadd and I are working on trying to learn Spanish so I decided to take a picture of inside the Rosetta Stone Box.

We have had this program for a couple of years and will work diligently on it for a while and then slide back into old habits. We have found that if you don't 'use' it, you 'lose' it. Now we are starting all over again. It is a good program.

Week 2 - Colors

Our challenge: This week's theme is a nice easy one to continue to lull us into the year : Colours
        with added Daily prompts:

Monday:   Red
Tuesday:   Blue
Wednesday : Green
Thursday  : White
Friday  : Black
Saturday : Pink or Purple (depends if you have girls in the house!)
Sunday  : Brown

Since we were gone all week on our cruise, I am playing catch up. So, all of my colors will be on this one post.

We had a wonderful, relaxing time. Our batteries are all recharged and we are feeling good. We really didn't do much of anything but relax, read, and eat (too much probably at least for Thadd). I have a tendency to eat less for some reason, so usually lose a pound or two. LOL

So here we go: Monday is red. Henry and Toby chilling on the sofa with red stripped pillows and a red throw.

Tuesday is Blue: This is a picture of the beautiful blue water at Grand Cayman Island. I shot this off of our balcony just straight down into the water.

Here is another picture of the sea and the sky.

Wednesday is Green: I don't have many pictures of green things that I have not already posted but I decided to use one I had of our house. It is light green with darker green shutters and green in the awnings. 

Thursday is White: Our cabin steward made this cute little white hanging monkey for us to come back to one evening. He made other animals as well but we liked this one the best.

Friday is Black: This is a picture of Chino, my daughter's dog. He is a sweet little mixture of Pomeranian and Chihuahua. He has long hair and a curly tail. Toby and Chino have a lot of fun playing together. He is starting to get old as you can see from the white on his muzzle. 

Saturday is Pink or Purple: I love purple. It is my favorite color. I wear a lot of pink as well but they are dark, vibrant pinks instead of pale pinks. Here is a picture I found online that I think is fun. I think it was probably 'photo shopped' somehow but I love the bright pinks and purples.

Sunday is Brown: This is a picture of our cabin. The brown wood is nice.

So, that is the week for me. Here's a couple of other pictures just for fun from our cruise. I actually didn't take too many pictures this time around. This is our ship.

These last two are of Thadd and one of the servers that I took when we ate at one of the alternative restaurants. This was the Moderno, a Brazilian eatery where they bring all different kinds of meats to your table. She also had a pineapple to cut slices off of as well. The food was excellent. Thadd is a real meat lover and he was in seventh Heaven!

Sunday - Family

Since I won't be able to post tomorrow I am doing Sunday tonight. These are a variety of pictures of different family members. My son and DIL just recently added two new family members...two puppies. A miniature American Eskimo and a long haired Chihuahua. Zach is in 7th heaven! Zach also just recently earned his green belt in karate.

 



My step-daughter and her family. They live in Ohio and we don't see them very often.

This is my brother and SIL and my nephew and his wife and their little girl Finley. My nephew and his family live in New York. The top right photo shows my nephew, my niece, and my great niece (my nephew's daughter from a previous relationship).

These are pictures of my niece, my great nieces, and my great-great niece. Wow, that is a mouthful. They live in Arizona. My niece Christina, my great nieces, Kaleigh, Kacey, and Gabby and my great-great niece, Eden.

And last but not lease are my daughter's family which you get to see lots of pictures of all of the time since they live here instead of thousands of miles away. Stacey, Corey, Reidar, Erik, Henry and Spencer.

We babysat for them Friday night and always enjoy spending time with the babies. They grow and change so fast! Henry is a pill and Spencer is so sweet. In case you are wondering what Henry is doing in the bottom left picture, he is 'towing' his dump truck. For a two year old he has a vivid imagination.

Saturday - Travel

I love to travel and have been fortunate to have been to some wonderful places but there are so many more to see. So instead of pictures of where I have been, I am posting pictures of where I want to go. This is a partial bucket list of where I would like to travel to before I 'kick the bucket'. LOL

The places shown are Scotland, England, France, Ireland, Amsterdam, Hawaii, Australia, Istanbul, Wyoming (in the US), and Bora Bora. I don't know if I will make it to all of them, but I will try!

Several of you have asked about our cruise we are leaving on tomorrow. This is a seven day Western Caribbean cruise that stops in Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Norwegian's private island. We have been to all of these places more than once but we love the islands and this cruise is more about relaxing. We have no plans to do anything more than maybe walk around the port and do a little shopping. We just want to be pampered and not have to do anything we don't want to. Between getting the house ready to sale and the holidays, we have been busy, busy. Now we can relax, relax LOL!

Friday - Clothes

Today our prompt is clothes. Since we are leaving on a cruise on Sunday I decided to take a couple of pictures of the clothes we are gathering and starting to pack. Hubby had to pick up a few of my tops from the dry cleaners. I probably could have just bought new ones for what it cost to have them cleaned! They will do men's shirts for $1.25 but charge almost $6 to do a ladies blouse/top!

Lucky 7's in 2014 - Week 1 Resolutions

Happy New Year everyone! We are starting a new blog/challenge this year and I am excited as we will all be able to continue to stay in touch.

Here is the first week challenge from Kathijo.

Week 1

Hi everyone.. I hope you all had a peaceful Christmas break and the New Year festivities have left you feeling positive.. and without too much of a headache!  
 So.. here we are.. a weekly picture prompt with extra words for those of us who want to upload daily ('aren't phones just so much easier these days'.. said the middle aged lady in the corner ;-) )
I will usually set on a Monday (but for a soft start I am setting a 5-day Week 1 to start us off today) and then week 2 will run from Monday 6th.. 
Our word for this week will be : Resolutions 
with added daily prompts : 

• Wednesday : Food
• Thursday : Drink
• Friday : Clothes
• Saturday : Travel
• Sunday : Family

Our word is 'resolutions'. I don't do resolutions because I always end up breaking them so I just try to live each day as best as I can. I find this works for me and keeps me from feeling bad or guilty about myself if I don't follow through on my resolutions.

For pictures I will combine Wednesday and Thursday since I was not able to get on the computer yesterday.

Wednesday: Food - We have a long standing tradition here in our house. As you know (or may not know) we live on a golf course and they always have a 'Bloody Mary Golf Tournament' on New Year's Day. They provide gallons of Bloody Mary's (yes, the alcoholic drink) to all the golfers. I don't golf but Thadd and his golf team have a very good time even though I think their golf game is highly compromised by it. LOL! Afterwards, everyone comes to the house for our traditional New Year's Day dinner which consists of corned beef, cabbage, blackeyed peas, mashed potatoes and a veggie (this year it was yellow/zucchini squash). We have some kind of bread too along with green onions (scallions) and some cucumbers to munch on. Of course we always have dessert. This time I made a delicious banana pudding. I didn't take pictures of a plate but here are some pictures of the food.

The banana pudding is a version of Paula Deen's and everyone absolutely loved it. It may not look like much but it is soooo gooood!

Thursday: Drink - Below is a picture of what most were drinking on New Year's Day (Wednesday). Top left is a Bloody Mary, top right a Mimosa (with a splash of Cranberry juice, and the beer the guys were drinking.

The only thing we have had to drink today is coffee (Thadd) and tea (me). We have one of those Keurig coffee/tea makers which we love. I can have what I want and he can have what he wants and there is much less waste this way. This is my favorite...

I won't be able to blog on Sunday or next week as we are going to be on a cruise and I won't have access to a computer but I will try to catch up when we get back on the 12th.
